Welcome to Crown Mentorship Foundation Alliance Program! It is an honor to announce the launch of our very first scholarship program. We are a not-for-profit organization that fosters experiential growth of Black students, professionals, and entrepreneurs through mentorship.
The launch of the Alliance Program is a direct result of the funding support received from Deloitte. Our scholarship program aims to empower Black students to break barriers and achieve their full potential through mentorship and career development opportunities.
The Alliance Program is open to Black post-secondary students who are aligned to our mission and demonstrate commitment to the advancement of the Black community as well as their own professional development.
Successful candidates will:
- receive a $2,500 bursary
- participate in Mentorship Shadow Day at one of Deloitte’s locations either in Edmonton or Calgary to gain exposure to various roles and career paths
- gain access to Crown Mentorship Foundation mentors

Mentorship Shadow Day
Deloitte provides audit and assurance, consulting, financial advisory, risk advisory, tax, and related services to public and private clients spanning multiple industries. Deloitte serves four out of five Fortune Global 500® companies through a globally connected network of member firms in more than 150 countries and territories bringing world-class capabilities, insights, and service to address clients’ most complex business challenges.
As part of the Alliance program, Deloitte will be hosting the mentorship shadow day during their National Impact Season, demonstrating their commitment to the community through firm-funded time to volunteer on projects that address issues that are most important locally. The Mentorship Shadow Day promises to be a day dedicated to support the growth of the scholarship recipients, who will participate in various professional development activities at Deloitte offices in Edmonton and Calgary.
Program Eligibility
To be considered, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Must be a student in any post-secondary institution
- Preference would be given to students in program of studies that align to professional services (Commerce, Management, Finance, etc)
- Must be a student of Black descent
- Must reside in the cities and surrounding areas of Calgary and Edmonton
Application Requirements
The application to the program requires the completion of four sections:
- Section 1 – Three written responses questions: 500 words maximum
- Section 2 – One video Submission
- Section 3 – One Character reference letter
- Section 4 – Unofficial transcript, and/or proof of acceptance or enrollment
Program Timeline
- Applications open: July 8th, 2024
- Alliance Program Information Session(s): July 19, 2024 & July 26, 2024
- Application closes:
August 6th, 2024August 20th, 2024 11:59pm MST
- Winners announced: September 20th, 2024
- Winners highlighted during Crown Mentorship Foundation Symposium: October 25, 2024
- Mentorship Shadow Day falls during Deloitte’s National Impact Season: November 22nd – December 13th
